Things That Made Me Go, “Hmm…” – Week 38

Alright, kiddos. Ready for this week’s rundown? No? Not quite? Well, get ready, because I’m not gonna wait around for you guys…

  • This happened this week… and it was BRILLIANT. You go, John Brown. And don’t you dare apologize for anything. You did exactly what everyone has been wanting to do for the past 5 years. Bravo, sir. BRAV-O.
  • I came across this harribly lame lovely little snippet this week. It both frightened and enthralled me. I mean… REALLY, Alana Stewart? The woman’s gotta be some kind of alien life-form. That’s just… I mean… Holy Crappers, Batman! I guess I shouldn’t be so concerned about being 30, huh?
  • This also happened this week and it is literally the cutest thing EV-ER (…aside from the stupid rhyming scheme.) Who wrote the copy for this story? A four year old fairy princess?

The whole. Entire. Time. Poor jurors…

Okay, peeps. I realize that’s only four miniscule snippets, but gosh darn it… I’M BUSY. You should be happy I even posted this week. Good grief. The demands from you minions are getting just a wee bit ridiculous don’t you think? No? Well… YOU’RE WRONG. So there.

Lastly, in case you haven’t done this yet…

GO FOLLOW MISS CORA ON BLOGLOVIN’!  Seriously. What are you waiting for? Go do it. Why? Because I said so. And you may think I’m not the boss of you, but we all know I totally am, so… why fight it? Go do it. Thank you, minions.

Over n’ out, good buddies. Have an excellent end to your weekend.

A Couple of Things

  • I added a few new blogs to my list of “Blogs I Heart“. You should go check them out. They’re positively a-MAH-zing. Seriously. And while your at it, check out the entire list. There are a lot of hidden gems hanging out there. You’re welcome, blogosphere.
  • There’s another one of my articles waiting to be read over at Channillo. This one’s about hypochondriacs, and if you’ve ever had a hypochondriac in your life, you will want to read it because it’s ridiculously true.
  • I also added a couple new pages to the blog, so if you haven’t had the chance to check those out yet, please do so, and then let me know what you think, because there’s nothing I love more than feedback. (That sounded unintentionally sarcastic. But I totally wasn’t being sarcastic. I was being genuine. I love feedback. Feed me back, peeps.)
  • Also, if you haven’t yet, you should totally subscribe to this here blog thingy. Why? Because when you do, you’ll get e-mails containing any new blog posts that show up right there in your inbox, and you can read them right then and there, and the whole thing is really pretty slick, and why would Annie ever lead you astray when it comes to something this important? Well, she wouldn’t. So, go do it. Plus, once you do, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win your very own unicorn. (Which actually, isn’t true at all because unicorns don’t exist, but hey, if it gets you to subscribe, I’ll promise you just about anything. Even unicorns. So, if you buy the whole “unicorn” thing, then it’s really your own fault for being so silly, right? Right.)
  • DUDES! Any ideas for my “Hmm” post this week? I only have one idea so far, and although it is downright HILARIOUS, I really can’t justify an entire “Hmm” post based on one silly little hilarious thing. SO, if you have any ideas or suggestions, let me know, so I can link back to yo,u and share the love, and make you rich and famous just by mentioning you and your blog’s name. (There I go again, promising things I can’t deliver. You have to stop believing everything I say. First unicorns, now this? Really, dude?)
  • And lastly, here’s Jon Hamm nodding in agreement, because he approves this message:

See? Told ya.

Things That Made Me Go “Hmm…” – Week 27

Alright, bloggity peeps. Here we go. I promise this particular post will not only be thrilling, but awe-inspiring as well. And then afterwards, everyone gets to take home a magical, cotton candy unicorn.

  • First off, let’s just get this out of the way: Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers out there who have successfully produced progeny and lovingly nurtured, guided and raised the fruit of their loins. I will be purposefully avoiding Facebook and Twitter today in an effort to shield myself from the reminders that I am relatively worthless because I have not yet been fruitful and multiplied. But that’s just me. (Seriously, though. Happy Mother’s Day. Mothers are wonderful. None of us would be here without them.)
  • This is not only fun, but hilarious as well: 25 Better Names for the New Royal Baby.  My top 3 picks? Mary Moonpuncher, Champ Number-One Queen Baby, and… wait for it… Charles Grodin??? YESSSSS… Seriously fantastic.
  • And lastly… OH. MY. WORD. Pixar has a new movie coming out this November… and it looks… amazible. (Why, yes, yes I did just invent a new word. Thank you for noticing. I’m glad you like it.)

Alright, peeps. That’s all I have this week. Sorry if this particular post seemed half-assed. It’s probably because it was. (What? Everyone else is half-assing it lately, why can’t I?)

Over n’ out, good buddies. Have a great week.

10 Pinterest Tips for Writers

Okay, so I tried to reblog this before, but apparently it didn’t take… or re-blogging just doesn’t work on this here new blog thinga-ma-bobber.

Anyhoodles, I found this great article over at Veronica’s Owl Wonder blog which then led me to Chris the Story Reading Ape’s Blog (both great blogs, by the way, you should check them out…).

It’s 10 Pinterest Tips for Writers by Frances Caballo… and it is BRILLIANT. If you thought Pinterest was just for crafty types and Do-It-Yourself-ers, think again. These are brilliant ideas for getting your content out there… AND providing inspiration for other writer/blogger types. I strongly suggest you check it out. You will not be disappointed.

That’s it. That’s all I have. Over n’ out, good buddies.

The more you know…

SO… I really wanted to tell you guys about my doctor visit, but I also needed to get something new up on Channillo, so I put it up there. You can find it here. It’s a pretty good one.

You can also find my other Channillo articles there too. There’s the one about slow, small-town people; the one about the terror of using bag boys; and the one about giant stomach boogers. Actually, I think I’m going to add another page to the blog just for my Channillo articles so you guys can keep up with them there. Yeah. That is what I shall do. And a good time shall be had by all, forthwith.

Also, I need some suggestions for new blogs to read. I haven’t added anything to my blog list as of late, and I would really like to add some new ones to keep up with. So, give me some suggestions in the comments. Especially if you’re a lurker and I haven’t had a chance to discover your blog yet…  Let me know about it, peeps! Also, I think I need to weed out the list a little. So, the blogs that are rarely updated might be going away soon. If your blog is one of these, I apologize, but I’m simply following way too many right now to keep up with each and every one. Also, if I have been lax on my reading, I apologize for that too. I’m going to try to get caught up in the next few days.

This summer is looking like it’s going to be a pretty busy one too. Between travelling and gardening and house renovations and possibly preparing a classroom and curriculum for next year and working on a book… there’s a lot going on. PLUS, my former boss contacted me last week and offered me some summer work. I still need to get back to him. I can’t decide between working on my writing and getting paid zip but still having plenty of time to fit everything in that needs to be gotten done, OR getting paid a little bit, having less time to work on things that need to be taken care of and dealing with a power struggle regarding days off. Any thoughts? Seriously. I will take any and all suggestions, because I just do not know what to do.

*sigh*

Okay, I’m off to… I don’t know what. There’s so much on my plate I literally don’t know what to do next. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not…

Because You Need to Know…

I’m giving you even MORE updates about this here bloggy thing.

Fun, right?

No? Not so much?

Well, Jon Hamm disagrees, and that’s all that really matters.

Still no? Well, now you guys are just being argumentative. I dislike argumentative people, so I’m just going to carry on.

I know there are some things that still need to be changed. For instance…

  • My subscribers need to be moved over. I’m on it peeps. Hang on. I’m comin’.
  • My Gifs are not showing up. Again. I’m on it. I’m on page 2 of 15 pages of posts that need to be updated so… be patient.
  • I have to update and tweak some of the widgets. Again. I’m on it. Hang on. I will be right with you.
  • The look of the blog may change. If you are adamantly opposed to change, I apologize, but this is how life works, so suck it up.

In other news…

I’m going to be writing a new series for Channillo (a phenomenal website for writers if anyone is interested…)  called “Annie’s Inanities”. I’m currently working on my very first article, so once that is set and ready to go, I will let you know.

Furthermore, I WILL be updating my blog list as soon as possible, because I’ve come across some really fantastic new blogs as of late, and they deserve a spot on the list.

Additionally, Things That Made Me Go, “Hmm…” – Week 24 will still be at its regularly scheduled time. Which is tomorrow. There are CRAP LOADS of awesome stuff this week. Seriously. A little something for everyone. I lie not. It will be epic. You need to check it out.

And last, but not least, a shout out to my bloggity peep Cora from over at Apricots & Cream for all her hand-holding while I attempted to transition this here blog thingy. (Thank you, Cora!)

Alright, bloggity peeps. If I think of anything else, I’ll be sure to let you know. Stay tuned…

Heads up

Okay, kids. Here’s how it’s going to go down.

I’m going to be doing some… “maintenance” on the blog. I’m hoping there will be very few glitches during this time, but if there are, please be patient. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly and quickly, but if not, you’ll know what the deal is.

This “maintenance” will be taking place within the week, so I’ll keep you posted about anything you need to be aware of. Also, if you notice anything quirky, or something not working quite right,  or anything missing, please bring it to my attention so it can be dealt with forthwith.

Alrighty? Cool. You guys are the best.
